What is Sportzware Central?

Sportzware Central is an administration and competition management software package for sporting organisations. It covers a vast range of sport administration functions and aims to drastically reduce the time administrators and volunteers spend managing their sport.

Some of Sportzware Central’s main features include:

Sportzware Central is wholly owned by SportingPulse Pty Ltd and as a result has been specifically integrated with our website facility. This allows fixtures, results, ladders, and other statistical information to be easily and instantaneously uploaded to the Internet, able to be viewed by members of your sporting body. This saves time and elimiates error due to double handling of data.

Sportzware Central is used in over 40 countries world wide, by over 3000 sporting associations, from grass root sports to International Federations.

Data Manager

The first screen you see when opening the Sportzware Central software is the Data Manager screen. This is an organisation's gateway to their database.

The Data Manager has four main purposes:

  1. To display each of your datasets (databases). An organisation may have different datasets for a number of reasons (eg. to keep certain competition/membership data seperate, or different databases for different sports).
  2. To download updates from the Internet.
  3. To Backup, Restore and Compact data.
  4. To facilitate user support through the zip and email feature that allows the user to send their data to SportinPulse for analysis.

Navigation Centre

The Navigation Centre provides access to all the options for managing a database. The main functions are grouped into the 5 tabs along the top of the screen (Configuration, Membership, Competitions, Daily Admin, Season Rollover). The buttons on the right hand side (Reports, Upload to the Web) are other key functions.

Within each tab, the buttons are ordered left to right to reflect the sequence they are normally used in. However you can use these functions in any order.

The menu bar at the top of the screen, outside the Navigation Centre, contains drop down menus that provide access to the same functions as displayed in the Navigation Centre, enabling you to access any function either through the main Navigation Center tabs or alternately through the top menu.

Configuration Tab

The Configuration area is where you can modify Sportzware Central’s default settings - eg. passwords, security levels, Uploader Configuration settings.

Membership Tab

This area controls features concerned with Membership for your organisation: Clubs, Teams, Members, Email Center, Tribunal and Clearances. Teams, for instance, can be added here, along with officials and players belonging to the team.

Members can be Players, Coaches, Match Officials (umpires/referees), Officials or Miscellaneous or any combination of these. The administration of Email Groups is accessed from here, as well as Tribunal and Clearances administration.

Competitions Tab

This area controls features concerned with setting up your competitions and making alterations to the fixturing of those competitions. Fixtures may need to be altered for a variety of reasons, including the unavailability of venues, regrading or the changeover into finals. This can take place either through the Edit Fixture button or the Fixture Grid button (drag and drop capability).

Sportzware Central caters for various types of competiitons, including knockout tournaments and round robin formats. Fixture templates can be customised by the user.

Daily Admin Tab

Once your season is underway, this is the area that you will use most frequently. There are two options for entering scores:

  1. 'Quick Entry by Date' allows the user to quickly enter final scores, process ladders and post to the web.
  2. 'Full Match Entry' is designed for the entry of more detailed match information depending on the sport – quarter by quarter scores, scorers, best players, offences, match reports, etc.

Ladders, Player Statistics, Voting, and Umpire/Referee Allocation can all be accessed from Daily Admin.

Season Rollover Tab

You may organise your competitions by archiving them at the end of season. This aviods clutter by organising your competitions into 'current' and 'historical'.

Reports

Sportzware Central provides a wide range of commonly used reports, divided into various groups such as Results, Fixtures, Players etc. Sportzware Central uses an application called Crystal Reports as its reporting engine. Crystal Reports is widely used and accepted as a reporting mechanism providing flexibility and efficiency in reporting. There are over 200 reports that are available to you when using SWC.
