Custom fixtures Pdf

The Fixtures area can be accessed in two ways:

  1. Through the Navigation Centre > competitions tab > Custom Fixtures.

  2. Or through the Fixture Details tab of a competition's details/settings.

The Fixtures Administration screen will appear, which shows a list of all the Fixture Templates. From this screen you can:

  1. Create a new fixture template
  2. Edit an existing fixture template
  3. Delete a fixture template, or
  4. Copy a fixture teamplate (and then make adjustments/ alterations).

It is recommended that you do not delete a fixture template, and if you plan on making significant changes to a fixture template, copy it and make the changes to the copy.

Create a New Fixture Template

From the Fixtures Administration screen, click on Add. A screen will appear where details of the fixture template are added.

  1. Enter the name of the fixture based on it's description (eg. number of rounds/ teams/ specific comp it will be used for).
  2. Select the fixture type. This will allow you to easily locate the fixture from the Fixtures Administration based on its type.
  3. Enter the number of competitors (ie. teams or players).
  4. Enter the number of rounds. A round is a group of matches where all teams/players are involved in a match.
  5. Enter the number of byes if applicable (if there will not be byes in your competition fixture, leave this field blank).
  6. Enter any notes/information you wish to keep in relation to the fixture template. This is a useful place to keep the fixture rules or details about the format.

Now that you have entered the details of the fixture template, the method, or formula (who plays who, and when) can be created. This can be done in one of two ways - (7) using the Fixture Method Editor, or (8) writing the method/formula manually into the method box. The quickest and easiest option is to use the Fixture Method Editor.

  7. Click on Edit Method. The Fixture Method Editor will open.

Fixture Method Editor

The template will appear according to the number of rounds and competitors you have specified. To create the fixture temaplate, you now need to be determine who will play who in each match of each round. Remember that when you create a draw, you always assign a team or player a number in that draw. The number that a team or player is assigned will determine where they fit into the fixture based on the fixture template.

Menu options on this screen include:

  1. Add game – adds a game to the currently selected round
  2. Remove game – removes the selected match
  3. Reverse games – swaps team 1 and team 2 in the selected match
  4. Reverse round – swaps team 1 and team 2 in all matches within the selected round
  5. Add round – adds a whole new round
  6. Delete round – deletes the entire selected round

Other notes:

  • The round name can be changed by clicking in the Round Name box, as can the round abbreviation. The round abbreviations are used on the website to differentiate between each round.
  • The team 1 and team 2 columns have drop down menus to choose which team will play in the match. The number of teams available is set on the previous screen.
  • For knockout fixture templates, teams can be selected based on winners (W) and losers (L) of the first round. This will automatically feed the winning and losing teams through to their respective places in the next round of the fixture. Eg. W4 v W5 means that the winner of match number 4 will play the winner of match number 5.
  • Match types allow you to add a description to a match - eg. Semi Final, Knockout Match. Match Types will display on the website.

  1. Enter numbers as required into the Team 1 and Team 2 columns to create your method/formula.
  2. Once you have finished setting up the method/formula, click on Ok to return to the Edit Fixture Template screen.
  3. To check for clashes or errors in the method, click on the Check button. A dialogue box will appear either identifying a problem or stating that the fixture has been drawn up correctly. If there is an error identified, fix this error and then check the methos again.
  4. The fixture method will now appear in text format on this screen. Quick changes to the template can be made here.
