Outcomes

When a duplicate is resolved using any of the 5 options (except option 4), the member‘s record will still be viewable in both locations. The difference will be that it will be the same member record being viewed from the two locations in the database, rather than two different records.

When either of the first two options is selected, the personal/contact data relating to the selected record will overwrite the personal/contact data in the other record. For example, if the first option (‘this is the same person - use new data‘) is selected, the personal or contact data related to the new record replaces that data within the existing record.

After the resolution of the duplicate the individual will have one set of contact or personal information. Should the member have had multiple member types (eg. player, coach, match official), these will be consolidated within the single member record.

If an incorrect option is selected, the member‘s record will need to be manually edited and their personal/contact data corrected.
